Bedroom Cabinet Installation & Assembly

Bathroom cabinet assembly and installation in White Plains, New York — a straightforward handyman job that still calls for patience and a careful eye. The client had purchased a Threshold Linen Tower, a solid wood frame unit in a white finish, and needed it fully assembled and positioned in the bathroom corner beside the tub. The piece arrived in its original shipping box, taped and wrapped in plastic, sitting on the dark porcelain tile floor waiting to be put together.

The assembly process for a tall freestanding linen tower like this one involves more steps than the box suggests — crown-molded top cap, shaker-style cabinet door with hardware, adjustable interior shelf, and the base frame all need to come together square and tight. In a bathroom in White Plains where the existing tile floor and painted drywall walls leave little margin for a unit that racks or sits uneven, getting the fit right matters. Each panel was joined carefully to keep the frame plumb from floor to crown.

Once assembled, the linen tower was set into the corner between the tub surround and the light switch wall, making good use of a narrow vertical space that had previously held nothing. The white painted finish on the solid wood frame reads cleanly against the white subway tile and the light grey walls, and the lower cabinet door with its brushed nickel knob closes flush without binding.

The completed installation gave the bathroom in White Plains a defined storage column — open shelving above for daily-use items and an enclosed cabinet below — turning an unused corner into functional, organized space.
