Bathroom Tile Repair

In Bronx, NY, we handled a bathroom tile repair. The shower curb was wood-framed without concrete fill, and it had rotted and collapsed. The wall tile had been set directly on sheetrock, with no cement board underneath, and it was delaminating. The options were to patch the tile and curb or to demolish the shower area and rebuild it; in this Bronx, NY bathroom we went with the rebuild. We demolished the shower area, including the curb, then installed cement board across the walls, framed in a new shower niche, and set new tile over the floor and walls. The shower now has a mosaic tile floor grouted in dark grout, and white square wall tile finished in white grout.
